Question: I know about wiping over socks and khuffs, but I would like to know if it is permissible to wipe our shoes during wudho when we are at work or traveling and we are performing wudho in public places.

Answer: Wiping over the shoes is impermissible. It is only allowed to wipe over socks, very light leather shoes, and the like. The ruling is given to garments like socks which wrap themselves around the foot.
