Talking about Al-Madinah Al-Minawarah gets exciting out of the great love paid by all Muslims to it. It is the land of our beloved noble Prophet (may peace be upon him), which Allah chose to be the emigration land, to be the homeland and a capital of the Islamic empire. Further, Allah has granted it with many virtues and characteristics that cannot be found in any other land except Makkah that shares many of the same virtues and characteristics.

Allah (Glorified and exalted be He) favors Al-Madinah Al-Minawarah among the other lands and cities to be the truthful entrance of Islam; it is the emigration home, the revelation land and the base of the Islamic conquering armies. And Allah has chosen its people to become the supporters (Ansar) of Allah and His Messenger, giving them the safe land, the true faith believe and what He did not give to others. All in all, it is the entombment of the Prophet (may peace be upon him).

Al-Madinah Al-Minawarah enjoys historical milestones and embodies many sublime faithful meanings well known to all Musilims. In this concern, there are prophetic Hadith explaining the virtuous sides of it. The writers of the noble Hadith took care of these sides to the extent that some of them made independant sections for the virtuous sides of such beloved town in their books of which are: The Six Sihah Books, Al-Masaneed, The Huge Mu’ajam (Lexicon), The Zawayed (The Supplements) Dictionary, The Huge Tabaqat (The Ranks) and many of the Islamic historical books.

Many authors put a number of books treating specifically with its virtues like:
-The Virtues of Al-Madinah Al-Minawarah by Abu Saeed Al-Mufadhal Bin Mohammmad Al-Jundi, died in 308 A.H.
-The Virtues of Al-Madinah Al-Minawarah by Mohammad Al-Qasim Ibin Ali Ibin Al-Hasan Ibn Asakir, died in 600 A.H
-Al-Dalayel Al-Mubinah Fi Fadhael Al-Madinah (the Clear Signs of the Virues of Al-Madinah) by Abi Al-Hussain Yahya Ibn Ali Al-Atar, died in 662 A.H
-Forty Hadith In the Virtues of Al-Madinah collected by Mohammad Ibn Ahmad Al-Shathly in 1170 A.H
-The Virtues of Al-Madinah Al-Minawarah by Imam Mohammad Ibn Yousef Al-Salehi Al-Dimishqi, died in 942 A.H, and others.

And all the virtues of Al-Madinah can be generalized and Hadith that referted to it in the following:
Allah, Gloryfied and Exalted be He, has chosen it to be, other than any other cities, the place where the prophet Peace and Blessings Be Upon Him emigrated to. And a blast point of true Islam spreading and the prophet Peace and Blessings Be Upon Him loved it and blessed it and of that his saying Peace and Blessings Be Upon Him (Oh Allah bless our fruit, bless our city, bless our Sa’a (weight measure), bless our Modd (weight measure), Ibraham is your slave, comrade and prophet and I am your slave and prophet and he asked you to bless Makkah and I am asking you to bless Al-Madinah as what he did and more) narrated by Moslem.


And of its virtues that Allah, Glorified and Exalted be He guarded it and escort it from Al-Dajal (The Lier)and plague thus they can not reach it, and it was approved that the prophet Peace and Blessings Be Upon Him said: (On Al-Madinah tracks there are angles preventing plague and Al-Dajal from getting in) narrated by Al-Bukhari and Moslem.

And when the living in Al-Madinah a matter that needs patience and endurance the prphet Peace and Blessings Be Upon Him urged people to have patience although it is a hardship, moreover, he mad e the reward for that his intercession on the day of judgment or his witness for them. It was approved that he said: (Anyone from my Ummah who becomes patient on Al-Madinah hardship then I will his mediator or witness in the day of judgment) narrated my Moslem.

It was approved from him Peace and Blessings Be Upon Him that he said: (Whoever can die in Al-Madinah, he should do because, I mediate for those who die there) narrated by Imam Ahmad and others.

This is Al-Madinah: which has the belief spread there and will return as the snake draws back to its hole, the truthful and believed prophet Peace and Blessings Be Upon Him told that when he said: (the belief draws back to Al-Madinah as the snake draws back to its hole) narrated by Bukhari and Moslem.

Al-Madinah: A Secure Sanctuary
And Allah, Glorified and Exalted be He, made Al-Madinah a secure land which has its holiness and threatened who would touch its security with the painful punishment and it was approved that the prophet Peace and Blessings Be Upon Him said: (Al-Madinah is a sanctuary from ‘Aer (mountain) till Thor (mountain), and whoever would initiate an accident or accommodate an accident doer then he has the curse of Allah and the angles and all the people. Allah would not accept wrong or right from him on the day of judgment) narrated by Bokhari and Moslem. The death punishment was reported on who would have harm on the people Al-Madinah whether in their money, bodies or dignity, the prophet Peace and Blessings Be Upon Him said: (Whoever wanted to harm the people of this village -means Al-Madinah- Allah will dissolve him as salt dissolves in water) narrated by Moslem.

Allah has made Al-Madinah good and blessed and no one stays in it and be patient with it but the one who is psychologically good and his status is reformed. Anyone else will not stand and will soon leave it and go the prophet Peace and Blessings Be Upon Him said: (It is Al-Mdinah like the bellows expatriates its cinder and glows its goodness) narrated by Al-Bukhari and Moslem.

Prophetic Hadith In The Virtues Of Al-Madinah
And of the virtues of Al-Madinah what was narrated by Sofyan Ibn Abi Zuhair, may Allah be pleased with him, said: I heard the prophet Peace and Blessings Be Upon Him saying: (Yemen will be open and harsh people will come. And they will take care of their families and whoever obey them. And Al-Madinah is better for them if they knew. And Syria will be open and harsh people will come. And they will take care of their families and whoever obey them. And Al-Madinah is better for them if they knew.
And Iraq will be open and harsh people will come. And they will take care of their families and whoever obey them. And Al-Madinah is better for them if they knew) narrated by Al-Bukhari and Moslem.

By Saad Ibn Abi Wqaas, may Allah be pleased with him, that the prophet Peace and Blessings Be Upon Him said: (I am prohibiting what is between the two mountains of Al-Madinah: not to cut its trees, or to kill its animals (hunting)) narrated by Moslem. And he said: (Al-Madinah is better for them if they knew. No one leaving it in favor of another, Allah will replace him by a better person than him. And no one keep patience on its hardship and toughness, I will his mediator or witness on the day of judgment) narrated by Moslem.

By Abi Hurayrah, may Allah be pleased with him, the prophet Peace and Blessings Be Upon Him said: (A time will come on the people the man will be calling his cousin or relative: come to welfare, come to welfare and Al-Madinah is better for them if they knew. Whom my soul is in his hand (swearing) no one leaving it in favor of another, Allah will replace him by a better person than him, Al-Madinah is like the bellows, expatriates its cinder, the hereafter will not come till Al-Madinah expatriates its wicked people as the bellows expatiates the cinder) narrated by Moslem.
By Yohnnas the master of Mosaab Ibn Omair: that he was sitting by Abdullah Ibn Omar during the riot, then his female master saluting him and she said: I wanted to go oh Abo Abdurrahman, the time is so tough on us, and he said: Stay Luka’a, I heard the prophet Peace and Blessings Be Upon Him saying: (No one keep patience on its hardship and toughness, I will his mediator or witness on the day of judgment) narrated by Moslem.

These were a generalization of the virtues of the city of the prophet Peace and Blessings Be Upon Him.
